Fished around the mouth of the Yakima from daybreak till noon. Saw ONE fish caught and there were a TON of boats there. Some trolling against the current and some (like us) trolling downriver.
There didn't seem to be alot of fish in the river (didn't mark many on the sonar), but the worst part was the weed debris constantly on our line, flashers, and lures. Three of us in my boat and not a single hit.
If I fish tomorrow it will be somewhere else. Even though the dam counts show we should be in some fish it didn't look like it out there on the water.
Good news is - it was a beautiful day on the water! No wind, and lots of sunshine. That could have something to do with the lack of success though since today was much nicer than the last few days...
Good luck out there!

Curious... Was the water rising or falling? I find the water rising condition there is important to success. When it falls I uasually have a harder time of it.

Head up to Vernita, I've heard of good reports up there the past 2 weeks. I'll be heading up there next weekend to fish.

Yeah, Vernita might be better. A friend tells me the weeds are not a problem there so that is a MAJOR problem gone. I think the wife and I will try that this weekend. We will head up Friday night with the camper and hit it early. :-)
I am not sure if the water was rising or falling (didn't look to see at all). I guess we could probably figure that out if we looked at the flow records for the dams.
Good luck out there!
