Went up on Saturday with my brother and his brother-in-law to camp at Ft. Spokane and then fish Sunday morning. Started trolling around Seven Bays and had a fish on in the first two minutes, before the second rod was even set. Caught two more trolling Seven Bays so headed back into the mouth of the Spokane. Trolled up and down the shoreline with a few more fish but nothing consistent. Then trolled down the middle of the river and started really getting into them. Very good fishing after finding the pattern and where the fish were hanging out.
We were fishing with downriggers set at 7' down to 13' with a Kekeda fly and a chunk of worm. Trolling speed for us was 2.4-2.6 mph. The orange Kekeda fly nailed them this trip. We caught one fish on the perch pattern and three on black, but that orange consistently did it that day. All the fish were the typical 15"-16" chunky trout. Really good fighters with some jumping and some digging. Really fun trip.
