We got to FT. Spokane about 10:00am, It was sunny and 28 degrees. By the time I had the fire ready to start the wife had her first fish on, nice 16" rainbow. After about 20 min. I had a nice fire going and it was time for me to get a line wet. My wife was using marshmallows and worms so I tried a shrimp under a bobber. With in the next hour she landed another 16"er and a 24"er so I got rid of the shrimp and set up a slip sinker with marshmallows and worms. By 1:30 she had landed another 16" and a 14" all nice fat bright fish, and I was still waiting for my first bite. After giving me a good ribbing she put her gear up and started tending to the fire. Finally I got a bite and missed it, and then another and missed it also. About 2:00 I hooked into one, a 12"er, smallest fish of the day. Another hour went by before I got another hook up, a fat 14"er. By this time we were about out of fire wood and I had been skunked so it was time to head for home. I will try to upload pictures but I am trying to figure out this new computer with Windows 8 and I am having a terrible time with it.

Sounds like you should have put your gear up, and used hers....

Been there...

Nice report hewesbob, and sometimes, the wives just seem to outfish the guys. Has been the norm on our boat for a long time, this year being the exception. Fish in the cooler and time out together is what matters. ;-)

Having a fire must make a big difference when fishing from shore, in sub 30 degree temps. I got a taste of windows 8 starting about 6 months ago. I nicknamed it "Win-hate". Took a couple of weeks, now am familiar. But there are some annoying things, especially if not using a "touch screen", which, win8 is probably best when used with. I here there is a download called 8.1, which adds a start button. Like wind 7 had. I would recommend computing from the "Desktop screen" instead of the "tiles" screen. That screen is found on the "tiles" screen, as a tile that has a light blue background, with 5 rocks shown in the tile. Just finding the "hidden power button" was a chore. Watch youtube videos on win8, that should help too! Since I do not use a cell phone with tiles or apps, the "tiles" screen in windows 8 is not familiar nor spend any time in that screen. Also, my monitor is not a touch screen. Finding hidden items, by placing the cursor in the corners of the screen is a surprise. I would be just fine with windows 7. Keep at it, you will struggle through it, HB!
