We left Spokane about 7:30 in the fog and ended up following a car all the way to Davenport at 40 mph...long trip since it wasn't that foggy in the daylight. Launched at Fort Spokane; ramp was in great shape.
Started fishing in the confluence and didn't sonar many fish so just kept going towards Seven Bays. Finally found the fish off the sandy beach about half way to Seven bays and got the first one on an orange Apex. Got the second one on a Lenny Special while landing the first one. We caught fish on a variety of tackle with an orange belly gold Rapala working the best. Also got some on a Trick r Treat and an orange Kekeda fly. Certainly was a mix to say the least.
We had nine by noon and figured we could catch the last one for sure working the same area since the fish were still there.....not! Fished for two more hours and still didn't get the last fish, hum........ Finally gave up and headed for the ramp trolling. Switched one outfit to an orange fly behind a blue skeleton UV Shasta dodger. Just before the bridge in front of Two Rivers we finally got the last fish..whew saved by the bell!!
All in all another great day with water temps at 37 and a little wind. Sure was nice to have heat and enjoy the company of a good friend.
Tight lines - Alan
