What a great day on the water! Did some boat camping at Keller Ferry, and hit the trout in the morning. Chartreuse trolling flies, and cinnamon trolling flies 10" behind a Mack's Double D was the ticket at Covington Cove at the mouth of the San Poil. Caught the first one at 10' on the downrigger, then the rest at 5, and 7!! They hit hard, fought well, and had beautiful meat. Also got a BUNCH of crawdads. First time trapping them. All in all, a great trip!

Nice look'n catch, how did you do on the crawfish, what did you use for bait, can you eat "dads" that have been caught in Lake Roosevelt. I know there is a warning about the comsumption of certain fish species from the lake.

Did well on the crawfish. One overnight soak with catfood seemed to do the trick pretty well. First time setting pots for them. Caught about 4-5 lbs. between 4 pots. Used to set crab pots while I'd salmon fish when I fished Puget Sound, so I figured this might work similarly. Worked!

What depth were you setting your pots, and over what kind of bottom structure? I'm getting ready for my annual walleye trip up near Kettle Falls and thought about bringing my pots along.
