Brother Terry and I launched at Lincoln at daybreak and headed to Sterling Point area.I Started off with a nice 21" Kokanee at 3 lbs. the only one for the day. From then on it was none stop action for the rest of the morning until we reached our limits of one Kokanee and 10 Rainbow.Terry was using mono on top and I was using lead 31/2 colors. Trolling at 2 - 2.1 mph.
We were both using some no name flys with trailing treable hooks and sling blades tipped with worm, Terrys being more on the pink side and mine gold, yellow, pink, and green. Rainbows went 16 " to 23 1/2 " and nice and H-E-A-V-Y . What a bunch of beautiful looking fish. Wish I knew how to load up pictures, one of theses days I'm going to learn. We were done at 9:00 and headed for the launch.

Nice catch Brother 1. Sure would like to see a pic of the kokanee, yours is the first koke anyone has admitted to catching. To load the pictures just go to the page to load them and then click choose picture and go the picture file and double click the desired one on the thumbnail to put it on the list. When you are finished click the load picture button and you are done. Maybe that will help - Alan

That's what I like to hear, big 'bows and a bonus koke too! My wife caught the biggest koke I've ever seen near Sterling Point a few years back, 4lbs, 2ozs. My fishing buddy and I are going up tomorrow. :-)

Boy oh boy! I'm drooling all over myself about the fishing going on over there. Sounds like you and Terry had yourself quite a mornings catch. Sure hope to join you folks in January sometime.. Keep up the good work. Hope you can figure out how to post some pictures.

excellent Report!!! you have always had a nitch for catching a koke now and then. I was wondering if you two had been getting out.
I don't remember hearing my phone ring though? I hope to get down in the next week or so. two mental health days left.

Great report! I'm getting excited now for next week. I just hope the wind doesn't kick up. I think I'm going too heavy with my rod/reel combo's. For my trolling rods I've been switching back and forth between a Shimano talora M- 8' with a takota 300LC w/12 lb mono & 20' of 8lb flurocarbon leader, and a Shimano M-7' with a takota 500LC w/ 12 lb leadline & 20' of 10lb fluorocarbon.

Any and all comments by you Roosevelt long timers would be much appreciated!

I know there are many opinions and methods to catching these rainbows. We use 6 ft light action rods with 6 lb p-line cxx in moss green. We don't even have line counters. For us it's not too much of a science as far as amount of line out, just making sure it's more than enough distance from the boat to not scare the fish. There are others on here that have it more dialed in and consistent on their presentations.
