CF and I headed to Keller Ferry on Tuesday. It was raining most of the day but at least the temp was better in the low 40's. Compared to the last 4 trips the fishing was considerably slower but respectable. There was no serious early bite but rather long intervals of little activity and then a quick 2-3 fish. Orange Kekeda flies were the definite best fish getter, on down riggers between 14-24 feet, speed 2.0-2.4 MPH. We got only 2 fish on plugs, both on perch colored rippin minnows. It was strange that our plugs were hit multiple times without hook ups, maybe because of our slower than normal speed. We marked very few fish and as in recent weeks we got most fish rom the same area of water although not consistent on each pass through. Only 2 carryovers Tues. I think the weather change affected fishing but as usual it was a great day on the water.

That is a gorgeous rainbow. Was it a native? The coloring is awesome! I'm glad the orange kekeda did the trick for you this time out. 40s in December on Roosevelt sound pretty good as long as the fish keep biting like this. -Dave
