Road conditions to Keller this trip were good. An absolute pleasure of a morning drive, especially when you begin the decent along the breaks of the Columbia river with a good ol' fishing buddy. Just never quite know what you may see....This particular morning, it was mule deer grazing amongst the steep hillside in the drifting fog.......Then the Mighty Columbia appears! Water conditions look to be of a fisherman's paradise! A quick setup and we have lines in the water just north of the Sandpoil around 8AM. Only floating vessel in vicinity was the restless Keller ferry. Into about an hour of trolling (and no bites) the gates opened..... and boats began to fill in around us. We trolled for about another 30 min (again....with no bites) and decided to pick up and move south. We dropped lines back in water around Swawilla basin. Again...slow, but did pick up a rainbow in the shallows. After about 1 hour....picked up and moved even father south. We were now trolling at Spring canyon with about 15- 20 other boats. Found fish here. Tight lines for approximately 2 hours and we had limits to call it a day. What an amazing and special part of the world we live and breath!
