The Tin-Guppy rides again, but not to much glory. This report actually covers from 3/7-3/11. Long time friend Jim came over from Vancouver and we stayed at Grand Coulee for a much need break from the work a day world. We had great weather and a good time but the catching was very slow. Most of the people we talked to had done better than us but no one seemed to be "knocking them dead". Guess this is where they seperate the real fisherman from those of us that just get lucky now and again. A lot of trolling and a lot of good remembering but it all added up to 10 fish in 4 days. Guess if we we did the right thing we either did it at the wrong time or the wrong place. Thanks to Harly and Charlie we did get our limit down at Rufus on Monday at the launch site. The current and wind were just to tough down at the net pens. Learning, always learning. Fished with friends Wes and Les from their boat on Wednesday and did better, they caught some nice hold overs but it was the one day I got skunked. The fish that I caught were either with an Orange Kekeda or a pink. Caught more with the pink from Spring Canyon and all the fish from Rufus with the orange.
And so it goes.

It's good to hear about your needed break from work. Sometimes the getting out in nice weather with good friends is the best part of the trip. It's always nice to accompany that with a bunch of fish too, though. Like you said, It doesn't sound like the frenzy of mid-Winter fishing. Glad you were able to get some on the Kekedas. Thanks for the report. Take care - Dave

One of the success factors for surface down there I believe is weather. Real tough and slow when its sunny and no wind, flat water conditions....basically nice out. When you have that 5-10 mph wind and overcast the bite seems to really turn on fishing surface lures for the kokes and rbt. My advice, drop down during sunny conditions for suspended fish.
