Got the 10 year old up at 4 am and made the 2 hour drive to Porcupine. Was a little nervous when the water came into view as to whether we would be able to launch. The water is as far down as I've seen, however, the trickiest part was negotiating the boat dock itself. Not sure if there's enough room to extend the dock, but they need to take a look at it. A little rain and someone's going to take a tumble as they walk down the dock. I gave the day a 4+ because we caught 40+ fish and I let my daughter reel in all but 2. Just to be funny, she found a Wiggles song on my phone and played Captain Feather Sword. As we giggled, all 3 poles went off. As you could guess, I heard Captain Feather Sword at least 4 more times (because it was good luck :) until I "accidentally" forgot to put worms on the hooks and the fishing died down. And magically picked up again as we lit up Dire Straits on my phone. Ah Ha! A new lucky band! The weather was beautiful with lots of fish, eagles, deer, turkeys, etc. Size of fish were mediocre at best, keeping 16 fish between 16-18 inches. Lots of dinks. We fished worm harnesses and color didn't seem to matter. Most of the males were all spawned out, no females.
