The kids and I got out yesterday morning for some summer time fishing. I'd been reading about some good Kokanee fishing going on at Roosevelt, and was hoping to get in on that, but Rainbows would be the fall back. As we were about to begin I came across Steve. He visits the site, but said he's not a contributor. Well, either way he's a good guy. Gave us the skinny on the Kokanee, and even gave me (after I protested, didn't feel good about taking it) a lure he'd gotten from his father that had been producing. We stacked the riggers every 5' from 30-45, and got into the fish at all depths throughout the morning. My son caught the biggest Kokanee I've ever personally seen, and my daughter and I caught other nice keepers. What a great day on the water! Pink, red, or orange hoochies tipped with firecorn behind sling blades about 50' back from the rigger ball seemed to be the ticket. THICK fish, great fight!
