First time fishing Roosevelt. Had caught few kokanee night fishing at Loon Lake but wanted to try to catch some with a little more size and by trolling. Headed out from Keller Ferry toward Swawilla. Arrived at about 1:00 and started marking some fish on the north side in about 100+feet of water around 70 feet. Had Wife and children (6 (almost 7) and 8.5 year old girls). So I was working on getting rods in water, stacked on downriggers and trying to keep the boat going in a straight line with trolling motor at same time. Was pulling various dodgers and presentations but was not getting hit, so started to cross channel. Got hit about halfway across but missed that one and picked up a rainbow that the youngest reeled in. Older one took up the next release and came up with a nice kokanee ~15 inches at 70 feet in just under 200 feet of water. That one was on a hoochee with some pink died corn. Next one came from same area but on a pink apex. Last of 3 we caught was on pink apex, in nearly the same spot. Couple of rainbows interspersed in the mix. Kids had to be home to get to bed for camp tomorrow so headed back about 4:30. Not a bad day for 100+ degrees and middle of day. Would likely do better early a.m. or later afternoon. Don't think it mattered much what I put in front of them as long as I got it in front of them. Marking the fish was the hardest part. Hoochee was green. Speed of troll was 1.2-1.4 MPH.
