Wow, what another awesome day on the river. The weather down on the Columbia River has been incredible. It wasn't until I arrived in Spokane that I realized fall is upon us. It still feels like summer on the "reach".

My crew and I dropped lines in the "king hole" just before 7am and was intsantly rewarded with our first fish...until it fell off. Lines back in and number two is on line....until its not. We scored on our third a real nice fresh hen and then proceeded to break off number 4. Oh well it happens, but 1 for 4 is not the way I like to start my mornings. The super bait bite has been kinda stingy for me the last week but so far today super baits were getting results. As it turns out we landed 4 fish on super baits before the bite slowed around 9:30

I am not one to beat a dead horse, so off came the flashers and on went the eggs. 2 minutes later fish on. We hit 5 kings in 5 drifts and made it to the launch by 11 with our 3 man 9 fish limit. I have learned to be flexible with my tactics and it pays off.

Largest fish today was a pair of 18 pounders.
