First trip of the fall/winter season, good weather, light winds, minimal boat traffic, and fish were biting!

Started off near Lincoln, worked the entire shoreline all the way to the bend. We caught a few, one nice one at 18", couple others 17" - 17.5", balance between 14" - 15". Not a bad start this early in the season.

Couldn't find the nice ones like Dave posted from last week. Not sure if coming off the the low pressure day before affected them, but we still had a good day on the water.

Lines in the water by 7:15 and limits in the cooler by 11:30.

I started with a leaded line rig and a Kekeda perch pattern fly out 155' and a long lined mono rig with a black pearl Rip'n Minnow at 195'. My buddy sent a different perch pattern fly back "4 colors". Action was slow, and since overcast, I decided to play around a bit. Switched to a couple different Muddler style flies, one more or less traditional and the other with a traditional colored Muddler head and a pink body. Changed up on my other rig too, and sent an Apex down to 15' off the downrigger. Had my best fish hit on the pink Muddler, made the bait clicker, but it never got close enough to see before it came unbuttoned.

We decided to move to another area and I since no action off the downrigger, I stowed that rod and we just fished leaded line rigs. I switched to an orange Kekeda and my buddy changed out to a Double Whammy with a large orange blade.

Orange was the color they wanted. Finished our limits and headed back to the launch. :-)

Highlight of the day was seeing a black bear hustle his way along the hills across from Lincoln. First black bear I have ever seen there. He know where there was an apple tree and that's where he ended up, standing on his hind legs to reach the apples.

Downside of the day was me breaking off the upper section of one of my Daiwa Heartland Kokanee rods. These have been my long line mono and downrigger rods. :-(

Trolling speeds ranged from 1.8 - 2.8mph.
