Sorry for the late post but have been really busy. Three of us went out chasing rainbows again on Sunday. Started out trolling in front of A rock again across from the Lincoln launch. The fish were there again but we didn't manage any of the big ones that day. The usual 17" trips were all we could manage for our biggest. We took a few turns around the bay down by the fish pens and picked up a few there too but nothing big. We finished the day with 13 trout and a fun bonus Walleye. I've only caught 2 Walleye now on Kekeda flies so that was fun. The rest of the bag had this year's planters in them. Let a few of the smaller ones go to grow bigger. The sheep were down right next to the water and we were able to watch them drink and play around on the bank. Fall is in full swing. We saw Whitetail, Mulies, Coyotes, Turkey, Quail, and a bull moose on the way home. What a great time to be out on the water fishing and enjoying what the Lord has made.

Fishing was done with Orange and Perch Kekeda flies. Depths were ranging from 12' down to 22'. Speed ran between 2.2 and 2.5 mph. We run our flies behind the boat without any other gear tipped with a chunk of worm around 125 to 150 feet. The sun was shining and the wind was blowing. All in all a good day.

Ahh life is hard Dave. Thanks for sharing your trip and great pics. I'm with Phil; 17" Rosie bowes are awesome! Can't wait to get some of those Kekeda flies wet and chewed up by those feisty lake Roosevelt trips. Alan

Thanks for the comments guys. I know, I know, I am very pleased with the 17" fish we caught. I hope the post wasn't misleading in that all of the fish were that big. Over half were this year's planters in the 14-15" range. We were just on the hunt for the big ones again. We were thrilled with the fish we caught and the experience we had. Phil, I'm looking forward to that as well. Good luck fishing out there everyone!

Dave: Way to go! Nice rainbows. We are so looking forward to getting over your way to join in the fun. It looks like it's going to be close to Thanks Giving time for a few days. It will be interesting to finally get to use some of your flies. I think I may have to give them a try over here on the west side before we come your way. I think we will be staying in Wilbur. Anyway, thanks for the report. Denny
