Long time lurker, First time post.....
We started fishing Roosevelt last winter and got hooked, such a fun place to get out the of the house on a fall/winter day to get on the water and fish. So I picked up my father on Saturday and headed to Keller. We ran up from the launch, past Jones Bay and around the corner(You will have to forgive me, I don't know all the names yet) We started fishing abaout 8:30. Two poles with leaded line and one on a downrigger, all with Kekeda flies orange and perch colored. It took about 45 minutes to get the first one in the boat and then about another 30 for the second one.
We worked our way back to Jones bay and as soon as we ducked in there it was on!! Had 2 different set of doubles and had to quit using the 3rd pole becuase we couldn't keep up with it. Ended up catching our limit by 11am. 4 of the fish were in the 17-20 inch range. Perch colored flies were the hotter of the 2 colors but the orange caught fish also. 3.5 colors out on the leaded and 18ft on the downrigger.
Already trying to figure out when I can duck out of work and make another trip back
John
