6 fish caught between my brother in law and I today.

Arrived at 7:40, after brief walk, we had lines in water at 8. 1 minute later, my brother in law lands the first fish of the day. I get one shortly after. We fish here for 2 hours, with 2 fish caught and 4 light bumps with no more hookups.

Moving down to point. Brother in law strikes again. 1 minute after casting, bump, bump, bump, stripped him clean. re-bait, repeat, same result 2 minutes later. 3rd times a charm, he brings in the bigest fish of the day at 18". A real chunk. I get one as a consolation prize in this spot an hour later. 4 hours in, 4 fish to the bank, and too many bumps and misses to remember, I think were at about 6 or 7 by this point.

My brother in laws antsy, and he moves to the other side of point. I tell him I'll join him in a few and stay the course. As he's leaving, I'm getting tapped. I'm so patient with this one, tap tap tap, tap tap tap, tap tap, then comes the hook set, and I'm stripped clean. I repeat this 2 more times before landing a 15" rainbow. Were at 5. BIL comes back, after I tell him the excitement, were now 5 hours in with 5 fish on the bank.

We fish here with no more bumps, and move back to our original spot, where we will inevitably work our way back to the truck, then home. :( We cast out, and in 10 minutes I have another 15" fish to the beach. I get bumped 2 more times here with no hookups. We move back to parking area and fish for 2 uneventful hours hoping for a massive evening bite foray that never comes. Driving home was interesting tonight and confirmed our decision to bank fish rather than face pulling the boat through that nonsense. All in all, another successful winter trout bank fishing outing. Our 2nd best total in many years, with our best coming a year ago. We have spent many days in the winter on the shores of this lake with 2,1, and 0 fish to show for our whole day, so I'm thinking things are on the up and up for our future winter bank fishing totals. :)

ETA: Worms picked up first three, then powerbait for the next three. It was foggy, cloudy, snowing, all day long. Conditions were the same in that regards. It fluctuated with wind most of the day, and then brief periods of calm with wet snow falling most of the day. What a beautiful time to be out on the lake. Saw a massive bald eagle overhead for most of the day as his nest was close. No better place on earth than on this Lake.

Thanks for the report Kevin. I'm spoiled and love the heated boat with the full top so will continue to take it with me to Roosevelt. I agree it is so BEAUTIFUL there! We are indeed blessed to have Lake Roosevelt in our back yard.
Merry Christmas to you and family - Alan

thanks for the report for the end of the river - only thing wrong with that pix is i wasn't there. almost went today, but wasn't
sure about the road, and since there is no school, they're not as diligent about keeping 25 in as good a shape as when the
busses are on the road early. wx looks to be a little better next week - maybe then.

HC- About a half inch of snow/ice on it. With 4 wheel drive, it would be no trouble at all.

Alan- Merry Christmas to you and your family as well

Out there- Hopefully you can get out soon. I know that feeling well. I'm Already anticipating next months trip!
