Krapmit
1/28/2016 1:48:00 PMAs far as jigs, I don't see how it matters too much as you're tipping them with a good sized shrimp tail. We stuck with pinks and oranges as that's what mostly used by the guides up there.

Well, I've been wanting to target steelhead in lake pateros for a couple years now and with the west side rivers blown out this weekend, I decided to make the trip. With the methow closed and only being able to fish from Brewster to to Bridgeport, I knew there was a chance for it to be slow.
We fished all day Friday & Saturday and Sunday morning. We 50/50 pulled plugs and drifted jigs tipped with shrimp. we ended up getting NO fish on Sunday morning, 4 on Friday and 3 on Saturday. 6 Total steelhead and 1 triploid. Triploid was roughly 4 pounds while the steelhead ranged from 5-9 lbs.
We fished HARD and hammered a few of the main drifts with the kitchen sink. Of the 6 total steelhead, three were hatchery while the other 3 were "native" (yea right) and safely let go.
It's a fun fishery and only saw 3 other boats on the water the whole weekend.
