I put in at Crescent Bay before sunrise. I fished out of my 14 FT. Livingston. There was a nice chop on the water. I used a small down rigger for 1 rod and flat lined the other. I ran various flies and squids with and without dodger on the down rigger. I ran different Rapalas on the flat line. I trolled into the sun. But, I hugged the cliffs in the shade on the south bank. Once I had passed Eden Harbor I zigged and zagged across the open water to the north shore. I looped around across the buoy line and back into Crescent Bay. I went without a bite for the first 3 hours! This was not fun.
No other boats had launch out of CB. I could see boats fishing the SC area. after a while 2 different boats ventured my way. Neither of witch stuck around. They were searching also. By 10:30 the wind had picked up. I looped deep into CB to get out of the wind and heckle the the bankies. They were fishless also. After I looped around past them a couple times I picked up my first fish. I looped again and picked up another. On the next loop I doubled up! A Kokanee on the down rigger at 15 ft deep and a RBT on the surface. The fellas on shore jokingly threatened to throw rocks at me if I came around again. The next RBT came from trolling just off the end of the dock. The 1 last fish just did not want to allow me to limit and leave. As I stared back in the tackle box to find the next offering I looked up to see a bouncing Rapala rod.
Orange & gold J-9 was the best producer for the day. Although, orange mini squid & silver smile blade got a couple also. The one Koke and 4 of the RBT were all in the 15 inch range. 18'' RBT was the biggest of the day. I listened to the first half of the game driving home & watched the 2nd half at home. I'm not a Denver fan but, It sure was sweet to see Cam bounced around.
It was great to get out.
Sorry no pictures. It is time for a new camera or phone. I downloaded them into my PC but, can't find them....
