Started up river from Keller at 7 and again it was good fishing. Three of us back at the ramp at 9. Getting the fish out of the sack and my buddy says this one is clipped. "WHAT!! So we checked all of the fish and all be %$#& we have 2 clipped fish both in the 17 to 18 range. So I said lets go exploring some new areas and headed down river. Fished until 5:30 caught 3 bows and one more Kok.
Used the same ole gear as I always do, but we actually caught 2 kok's in the 25' range in 80 plus fow. Nice to finally mark some fish for a change.

Hey, thanks for the report and pictures of the clipped fish. Maybe you should have those mounted. Were either of the 25 inchers clipped? Hope to bust a move soon and get down there, glad your still doing good.

spoke to a genteman from wdfw. he told me, they have been experimenting, on another lake, on the west side, and reserving 20% of the usual may plants of fry, for october release instead. and clipping them, to i.d. the catch was mostly clipped fish. meaning the early release fish, were fish food. and, the clipped ones, went in at like 3". instead of an inch. a better start in life, and, safer. i hope to speak to him again, to see if this means they will start stocking all kokes, in october, instead of may. this will add some size to them. and, more survive to catch.

We also caught one Kok that was 8 inches which we flipped off and another around 13 inches. So there are a mix of different sized Kok's. Both of the small ones were not clipped. I know some of the local bank fishermen have been seeing big schools of small silvery fish in the bays frothing and jumping. They say there was thousands of them in the entire bay. They were guessing they were 7 or 8 inches long. So are they the released fish from last summer or did some more come down thru the Pend Oreille system. No matter where they are from it's a good sign for next year clipped or not.
