Just got back from a 3 day fishing trip at Lake Roosevelt - first time visit........looking for those awsome Kokanee. Day 1 - launched lines in the water by 8am, first fish in the boat by 8:20.......and of course it was the wife's pole. Trolled a little longer nothing so moved a short distance up the lake. By 9:45 SLAM I had a fish on my pole - boated that one and what a catch 21". After a couple of hits and misses we had our 4 fish limit by 12:15. Day 2 - launched around 6am - looked like we were fishing the pacific ocean rolling with white caps........wind-wind-wind. Didn't take long for us to decide to trailer the boat hoping the wind would die down. Spent the rest of the day scouting the area and drove out to check out Banks Lake thinking we might try our luck at Walleye sometime in the future. Day 3 - launched and fishing by 7am, the water was still a little rough but we thought we can do this. First fish by 7:30 then lost a couple and landed a second. It was tough trying to fish this rough water so moved back down the lake and found smoother water, but no fish . So back up to the earlier location got both lines in the water had a hit landed that one went back thru the same area and hooked our last one for the day. By 10:30 we had our 4 fish limit.
A special THANK YOU to AJ's Dad and HewesFisher for their tips and suggestions.
Can't wait to go again!
