9 am start today quit at 4. Started at Swawilla and ended up by Hanson. SKUNKED. Couldn't mark any schooled fish at any depth. Nothing jumping or rolling. Just one of those days.

If you can't catch them, there's no reason for me to go down. I was wondering with them bringing the water back up so fast, if it would affect the bite. Obviously it has.

Wow that was a real bust. They must be out there somewhere. Maybe when the lake levels off things will get better.

I just think it was one of those days for me. I knew I was due one of these days because the last 5 months have been unbelievable. Capt Dave did real well Sat so the water coming up so fast isn't that big of a deal this year. I do think the water coming up does scatter them a bit, I just couldn't find them.

Capt. Dave is a guide. So I think he has to put in good reports to actually get clients. When you are out there and there is 12 boats out there and none are catching fish I would put money on it that a guide would have the same outcome. Just my 2 cents.

Mgnsn35 - maybe, but not necessarily. I'm sure we've all fished enough to see exceptions to any rule.

I agree with mgnsn35 when he states, " When you are out there and there is 12 boats out there and none are catching fish I would put money on it that a guide would have the same outcome." I feel the same way and that is why you won't find me fishing around 12 boats that aren't catching fish. Lake Roosevelt is a huge reservoir. I have come to realize that it is a very complex fishery with many nuances. Just because fish aren't biting in one location doesn't mean the whole lake is dead, but as we all know there are those days too.

widebear - If we fish a body of water long enough it will eventually blank us or at least not let us catch many. I have hade those days too on Roosevelt. Just when you think it's all dialed in one of "those" days can occur. Guess it keeps us humble.

mgsn35 - Yes captiandave is a guide and a very good one. He loves to fish and is a huge student of the lake and continually "experiments" to find new ways to catch those beautiful kokanee. I was down a couple of weeks ago and checked to see where he was fishing. I went the opposite direction....there was already enough traffic where he was. We caught our 6 kokanee and 11 rainbows; what a great day. Roosevelt is a huge place and who knows where the fish may be at any time. Experience and lots of time on the lake really helps to put fish in the boat consistently.
