9/2/2016 2:08:00 PMYes, the spawners will return up the Poil and Spokane rivers. We will most likely loose a good portion of these fish to the spawn this year, but there are also a lot of jumbos that aren't showing any signs of spawning and oddly enough seem to be mostly females with underdeveloped skeins. I have a feeling we will still be catching these in 2017. Lately I've been catching a lot of small hatchery kokes. Oddly these seem to be mostly males that look like they plan on spawning this year.
My tactics haven't changed much thought the season. Speed has remained a constant 1.7 mph all season. Dodgers and leaders haven't changed. The fish were biting larger baits during the winter and spring, but smaller presentations like spinners, hoochies, and apex have produced all year. Of course the depth I fish has changed as has my method of delivery. I'm seeing the water start to cool which will most bring the fish shallower as the fall progresses. Scent has also remained constant. Once again, thanks for your support and I hope to see you on the river.

I admire your the fact that you seem to be a great fisherman and seem to be person for sharing your knowledge with other folks and I would like to thank you for that. There are sooooooo many guilds on the water now days and a lot of them just seem to want to brag about how early they can get their clients back to the dock with limits like it's all about the meat and nothing about the experience of just being out there enjoying the trip. I have fished next to a couple different guides several times until mid afternoon when they head back to the docks and then that night read their reports about how they had their limits and were back at the dock by 8 or 9am, So keep up the good work and I always look forward to reading your reports, I hope to meet you on the water one day, just keep an eye out for the SEAHAWK boat and give us a wave.
