Catfish, Al and I headed to Keller this morning, a couple of weeks earlier than we usual start our winter trips to Roosevelt. Temps in the 40's not what we are used to while launching. Started below Keller and things looked promising with the first fish in the boat within 10 minutes followed quickly with a couple more bites. We started with pink hoochies at 20 and 30 feet on DRs with Kekada perch and orange flies at 10 and 15 feet. Plugs on planer board yielded a single bite all day. It turned out to be a grinder day as we picked up 2-3 fish per hour with no discernible pattern other than we ended up with only orange flies on DRs. Fish caught between 10-30 FOW. Speed 2.0-2.9 MPH with 0 picked up when going faster. They seemed to prefer corn with the fies rather than a crawler piece. Water temp 60. Most fish 14-16 inches with 2 carry overs at 18 inches. No Kokes. Ended up at the launch at 2 PM with our 3 limits under beautiful blue sky and 60 degrees. As usual, a great day with friends on the water.
