Great day to fish! Hit the water about 0930 - off the water by 1400.

Fished with Kada flies, first with the green - picked up a couple. The other rod had an orange fly and it seemed to be the hot rod of the day. Those little rascals were picky today. Had too much fun with the orange flies we didn't try any other of the Kada flies. Lead line back about 150 feet seemed to be the best for us. Speed was 1.5 so not too bad.

We ended up with two limits - as usual, my fishing partner got the biggest fish! No wonder I like to fish alone.

It was a super day of fishing, as usual the forcast for light and variable winds was off by a long shot! Spoke with another fisherman and he had the same results.

Next time I think I'll pinch down the barb and see if I can do some catch and release - don't need more fish in the freezer but don't want to stop fishing. Kinda wonder if the fish will survive but am willing to give it a shot.

Winter fishing at its best.

I wouldn't worry about pinching the barbs - just give 'em a little slack and they'll be long gone with your bait (as the old
cajun cook used to say, "I garontee") , or as my wife does, she sets so hard she pulls off their lips.

Yep, no need to pinch barbs because if you are using bait the trout bait rule still applies. :-(
