Long time reader 1st time posting, wife and I went up to hunters, got on the water about 7:30 went down river to a little cove about a mile down. Trolled in and out of the cove at 1.5 to 2 mph, (haven't tried any faster than that yet) But I've read about hewesfisher and others trolling faster (hard to break old habits) Anyway caught our limits and had a blast. The kekada flies in orange with corn did a better job than a kekada perch with a worm but both are great. thanks for all of the info. on roosevelt r.b.

Thanks for your report, I'm going to have to try Hunters area someday. Experiment with faster trolling speeds, you won't be disappointed, especially when using streamer flies like the Kekeda. :-)

Public Service Announcement - Rules for Roosevelt are changing sometime in December and ALL native trout (kokanee excluded) with an intact adipose fin will have to be released. Please see the news release here - http://wdfw.wa.gov/news/oct0716a/

Thanks for going ahead and reporting, every time someone shares I learn something new. I had trouble making the shift to a faster trolling speed but it sure seemed to pay off on my previous trip. Yesterday there wasn't any speed I could find that seemed to work but that is just the way it goes sometimes. I learned about the Kekeda flies from postings on this website and they have by far been the best producers for me. Usually the orange but sometimes the perch. Have only been to Hunters once and that wasn't for fishing. A lot of water up there I need to look into.
Stay after them, it's the right thing to do.

Thanks for using Kekeda flies and sharing your report. I'm glad to see the flies were working for you today. I'm in the same boat, haven't been up in that part of the river much. Always hear great things though. Thanks again for sharing and great job out there.

Thanks for the report Terry. Glad you picked up some tips from the rest of us. If the fishing is slow and the fish don't seem to be staying on, pick up the speed. The Kekeda flies really seem to shine at the increased speed. Also I don't run them with dodgers; a no spin presentation seems to work best for me.
