Launched out of Porcupine Bay at first light and motored over to Lapham's (big red barn). We started jigging in 40-50 FOW water and after a little moving around we started catching a bunch of 10-12 inch walleyes. After a couple of hours without catching walleyes of any size we went upriver to the first buoy; jigging the river channel in 45-60 FOW produced a bunch more dink walleyes and we also picked up a few burtbot as well. I was with my fishing buddy Glenn and although we caught about a 110 walleyes we only kept 14 that were of a size we felt were big enough to eat. Glenn did manage to catch a nice 23 inch 3 1/2 lb. eye and I caught a 6-7 lb. eye on a blade bait. We jigged up a total of 15 burbot and kept 8 for eating. One burbot had 8 crayfish in it's gut so anything in a brown/green grub or worm worked best. As usual they would hit our jigs on the way up which is opposite of how most walleye hits are. The drive out was pretty sketchy for Glenn; between the ice fog and a little slush on the roadway in Reardan he had his hands full while pulling his Lund. It was a gorgeous day out on the river with little or no wind and temps close to 40, at least once the sun finally broke through the fog. I will take that kind of day anytime for the first week of December. The water temp dropped 3 degrees in a week to 47 with water visibility about 10 feet. The Burbot/walleye/trout tournament is next month at Ft Spokane and thanks to YJ guide service it should be a hoot.

Nice report Mark, guess I know where I'm going later this week... Love me some blade-baiting. Water still 47, that should fall off quick... with overnight temps dropping over the next couple of days.

Brent,
The water temp should definitely plummet with the single digit weather we are supposed to have this week. It does look like it will warm up slightly by the weekend though. Going fishing this time of year just depends on how low your miserability factor is; as I get older it is definitely going up temperature wise.
