4/17/2017 4:18:00 PMHewesbob: I didn't do any trolling but I was prepared to if the jig bite wasn't happening. I want to try trolling some deep down cranks but there are only a couple of places I would even think of giving that a try. Where you saw me at 0830 isn't one of those places, that would be a sure fire way to lose big bucks fast. Surprisingly I only caught one small 15" trout that I released, I don't keep them but my buddies do.
Hinds: No pics, that just got to be a big hassle with people complaining. I only fish this area at this time of year because of the big fish, which I release. I had plenty of opportunities to keep a fish over 22" but I didn't. I am using both 1/2 and 5/8 oz. jigs because of the heavy current and with the current sweeping the jigs around in the back eddies actually helping to make a more natural presentation. This bite is only going to last a couple of more weeks before the big girls do their thing and disperse.
