Fished this weekend, all weekend long for sturgeon at Central Ferry. We fished with whole smelt just down stream from the bridge abutments. we would take the boat out, drop a line and head back to shore and relax and watch our rods.

The first fish come from just downstream from the second abutment out from the north shore about 5 min after setting my rod up to be watched. It was a nice long fight my when I finally got the fish in it was 74'' and had to be released. I got one more take about an hour later but this fish got into something down there and I had to brake my 50lb line. No more action the rest of the day.

Sunday morning got started early and my buddie hit one right off the bat in the same spot I was fishing sat. That fish was 61" and had to be released.

No more action the rest of the day but in the next few weeks it should really pick up. I was surprised we did not pick up any shakers. It is a lot more fun catch fish to big to keep than to small. I will be back very soon it has been years since I have fished for sturgeon and I am rehooked.
