Today was a beautiful day so I decided to give the snake river another try. I fished along the shore by the first park on wawawai road. Lots of small mouth feeding on top of the water, in about 2 hours I caught about 7-8 smb. The bass were on the smaller side, most of them were under a lb. I caught one that was probably a pound and a quarter. I used various colors but the silver spinners were working best. I have not fished this area except one other time but it seems like it was holding a lot of bass, now its just time for the bigger bass to show up.

Were you fishing at the small park just off highway 12?

ya, i believe its called wawawai landing. if you walk south along the road about 75 yards and climb down the rocks i have had some pretty good luck in there casting straight out. A couple other guys are fishing with plastic grub and bouncing it on the bottom, but when i do that i catch the snags more than i catch the fish, so i have been fishing with different spinners lately

When I was going to WSU we would fish for SMB down there a lot. I usually fished down toward the huge rock that people jump off of in the summer, just to the west of it and have caught some nice bass there. Even landed a chinook on a crankbait there.
