Stayed at Chief Timmothy park near Clarkston for a family reunion this weekend. I only got out and fished one morning. Fished from about 7:30 to 9:30. I spent the first hour throwing a jointed rapala in crawdad color and a pumpkin seed yamamoto grub around cover in the bay around the campground. Didn't get any bites in the bay, so I moved out to the main river and started fishing along the shore where the basalt cliffs dropped into the water. Caught a 8" bass on the crankbait and a tiny little bass on the grub up close to the shore. Switched to a smaller green grub with red flake and a 1/4oz jig head and started fishing deeper. Caught one decent 1.5 lb. smallie (pictured) and had several smaller bites while fishing about 25' deep. Had to go back for breakfast at 9:30 then spent the rest of the day skiing and wakeboarding. Water temp in the bay was 68 and water temp on the main river varied from 64 to 66.
