Spent the weekend on Kootenay Lake. Caught a lot of shaker rainbows and bull trout. Biggest was a 9 pound rainbow and 8 pound bull trout. Clear skies and calm conditions made it tough to find the biting fish.

Is the Rainbow a Kamloops? Almost looks like a cuthtroat type slash on the under side of the jaw? And the markings are not the typical Rainbow trout spots. Nice looking fish! Does the jaw extend past the eye? In the picture, that also looks possible. What type gear do you use for those very large fish?

Gerrard Rainbow. Trolling bucktail flies and #4 Lyman plugs on surface or downriggers. A lot of fun!!!

That is one beautiful fish man!!! I mean, that looks like something you could take to a taxidermist and have it on your mantle...Thanks for the report.
