I had a short window to hit a small urban creek near my new apartment, so i busted out my 3wt and light weight spinning set up and started swinging streamers and spoons. Glossed over the first couple runs pretty quickly, then b-lined to a promissing hole i found the last time i hit this creek.. After cycling through a couple wooley buggers and spiders, i decided it was time to quit messing around, so i swung a 1/4 oz castmaster through the hole, 3rd cast, whammo, i get slammed and see a dandy of a trout just rolled on my spoon, but i missed the hookset. So i put down the spoon rod for a bit to let the hole settle down.. I swing the bugger a bit, after 10 munites of nothing, out comes the spoon rod again. 1st swing and bam i get hit set the hook and land a pretty little cutthroat of 12"-14" definately a smaller fish than the 1st one that rolled on my spoon. Took a quick pic, never took it out of the water and let it swim off. Then my wife texted and killed my joy, and made me come home lol. I cant wait to walk this little creek in its entirety..
