well its great to finally be posting... 2 weeks late... but i am getting to it now. i hope you enjoy. College has been keeping me busy!

SHORT REPORT:
hit the water with my good buddy petdawg at sunrise for our very first trip to Lake Chelan. fished around Wapato Point and 20 minutes in had a triple on and caught them all. couple hours passes then we doubled up and caught them both. after 2 more hours and tons of spot changes, we decided to switch gears from kokanee and hit the trout bite. flatlining plugs out the back we tore the trout up, catching 25 in about 45 minutes when we found them. kept our 10 and then switched back to kokanee. caught one more but the wind was howling so we called it.

all in all a great first trip to clean. can't wait to go back.

LONG REPORT:
2:00 am, up, pack the car, drive to petdawg's and leave his house by 3 for the 3.5 hour drive to Chelan. What possessed us to do this as a day trip? we may never know... but it totally worth it. we arrive at the launch 6:00, get the boat ready and hit the water ready fish. the starting lineup was sling blades, and DD's with hoochies, brads' 3.0 mini plugs and wedding rings with Baird speciality corn and dipping sauce. we troll around the point for 20 minutes and bang! hook up.. petdawg is fighting the fish, then BANG! BANG!! we are tripled up! we land all three and are stoked! feeling great, we reload the baits and get after these fish again. 2 hours go by and we are pretty puzzled about what we are doing wrong, but right as we are about to pull gear, we double up and are up to 5 keepers. with revamped confidence, we hit the same spot again and...... nothing. then 2 hours again of nothing, so we pull gear and head towards the east end of the lake and troll towards the state park (where we were goingto fish for cutthroat trout) hoping to find a pod of footballs, but no luck again. we arrive at the trout spot and start pulling three 2.5" rapalas 100ft back and one ford fender and wedding ring. we stayed in 8 feet of water hugging the shoreline until we found a school, then just did turns through them until we got a limit of good sized trout. great to not use bait so you can release fish safely. i must say it is interesting to me that these fish must be hatchery. i was surprised by that, but there were so many, we had no trouble weeding through a few hatchery fish.

after we limited on our trout, we went back after the kokanee for a while, but the wind was blowing hard so we didn't last long. in about an hour we caught one more fish and called it a day. arrived back home around 11:00 PM. heck of a trip!

we fished all different depths for the Kokanee from 30-120 feet on the wire. 4 fish came at 120, 2 at 70ft ish. 1 on a wedding ring, 2 on the 3.0 plug, and 2 on a hoochie.

all in all it w as a great day and learning experience. for our first trip to chelan i can't complain at all. we went home with 16 fish and they were delicious. I can't wait to go back and give it another go.

well, college isn't the only reason i have been late with this posting... I have been actually keeping myself busy in the fishing world too.

my favorite lake is Lake Sammamish. it is my home lake (i fish it almost every day in the summer and other breaks when i am home from college) and it offers some of the best trout, bass, and panfish fishing west of the cascades.

I have been spending the past month (about) creating a little guiding business that will offer trips on Lake Sammamish during the summer and winter months. Fast Action Fishing Adventures (fast-action-fishing-adventures.com) is set to be opening this July. at that time the business will be USCG certified, meet all requirements set forth by the WDFW, carry a adult/ pediatric CPR/AED trained captain, and have all gear necessary for a memorable day on the water.

The summertime has a fantastic and informative trip for panfish aimed at teaching youth to fish and giving young families a great day on the water. There will also be combo and Cutthroat trout fishing offered in the summer, as well as Cutthroat trout in the winter (check out the NWFR video for a taste of how great that fishery is!) if you book a trip for this upcoming summer or winter, mention that you heard of the website through Northwest Fishing Reports when you book for 15% discount on all services.

The driving forces for me starting this business came from this website and it incredible members. for that i am truly grateful.

I want to extend a special thank you to Petdawg, Mike Carey, Salmonbarry, Rseas, Rmrauscher, Steelheadin360, and BigwallysGS for of your help, support, and mentoring through this process. I cannot thank any of you enough for what you have done to help me. they say fishermen are a family, and you really made me feel that.

anyway, thanks for reading and TIGHT LINES AND GOOD TIMES TO ALL!

Just noticed that the Hot Spot button was gone too. Can you give me a round about location on the trout? I got one and it was wild in three days of fishing last weekend

If you launch at the state park, start your troll eastward and work the little bay there. 8-12FOW
