I guess I was a little disappointed when I first arrived at the ramp to find the water visibility hasn't improved much. We launch the boat at 8 AM under sunny skies and a light breeze. All in all it turned out to be another wonderful day to fish. The catching wasn't half bad either.

Five minutes into our troll we were rewarded with a nice big hatchery rainbow. Shortly after we released a wild bow and made several passes without any action so we started a long troll in search of more fish. An hour later we hit the jackpot. My fish finder finally started graphing fish in a small bay. Just after we marked these fish we hooked up on a triple. Two kokes and a bow fell victim to our offerings. After a couple of passes it became obvious that these fish really wanted pink today. We changed up our presentations and soon all of our rods were producing.

Although we graphed fish down to 65 feet today we never got a bite deeper than 20. Our best depth was down approximately 5 feet with one color of lead core line on a planer board. Once again our best speed was 1.7 mph. A pink apex fooled the most fish today including the largest Kokanee at 19".

It was evident that these fish were coming out of their winter lethargy. Half of the strikes we got today were quite aggressive. I am looking forward to the months to come and I hope clearer water is in Lake Roosevelt's near future.
