I arrived at O'dark thirty, and was actually the first in the lot at the city launch. Strange day weather wise. Rain, wind, clouds, sun. A bit of everything at different times. In all I landed 8 fish, I had 6 more get off on the way in, and another 5 more get off with the net in my hand. So while I didn't quite limit out, I did have a lot of action, include multiple double hook ups, of which I only landed both once. Fun but at time frustrating day. That's Kokanee fishing though I guess. Rated the day a 5 because of all of the fish I had on, not even counting the takedowns that did not stick.
Once again the Elgin Fishing God's tooth spoon in 50/50 modified for kokanee by Reli lures had all of the action. It's been preforming so well that I did not even try running anything else today. Both lines had the 50/50 paired with a Dick Nite dodger in clown pattern, 12-13 inches of leader. 1 line off the downrigger set anywhere between 6-8 feet (I did drop it down lower to some marks a few times during lulls in the action, but got nothing for it) and the other line had 1/4 ounces of lead putting it probably 5-7 feet down. Fish ranged between 12 - 14 1/2 inches today.
Water temp today started at 53.5 and got up to 54.5 when I left. Fish will probably start moving down the water column a bit in the coming weeks, which will probably get them to school up a bit more and make for even more consistent action. They seemed to like between 1 - 1.25mph today.
When I got home to check the Go-Pro, I was bummed to discover that when I deleted last weeks trip, I had neglected to set the camera back to 1 touch record. I thought I had recorded the whole trip today, but actually recorded nothing :)
