I just enjoyed the two most beautiful days at Roosevelt. Warm sunny and barely a breeze most of the time. With these conditions I would have thought the fish would have been deeper, but they weren't. 5-10' continue to be my best depth.

Catching was by no means hot and heavy, but definitely consistent. Over the course of two days my eight guests managed to retain 40 fish. 10 of these were beautiful Roosevelt Kokanee. The largest measured 23".

Strangely, my usual offerings weren't as effective as they have been. 80% of our fish were caught on flies. Also I varied my speed more than normal, and caught fish up to 2.5 mph. The only thing that was "business as usual" was the quality of these fish that Roosevelt produces.

If you have any questions about my service, please feel free to contact me. I have several openings for this great fishery and can accommodate up to a group of 4. More info can be found on my website at captaindavesguideservice.com

Are you launching at Keller or down below at spring canyon?

Pfflyer, the answer is yes. Out of respect of the other anglers fishing the river I must decline to be specific in my answer for two reasons. The first is that great fishing can be found at both locations. The second is this. Imagine that I specifically answer your question in a very public forum such as this is. All of these reports influence how, where, and when bodies of water get fished. I am aware that if I specifically answer your question twice as many boats will show up at that ramp the next weekend. This influence can create overcrowding in both the parking lot and on the water. Because of this I have made it a policy to refrain from divulging locations I launch and fish on certain bodies of water.

Your question is fair. Rather than ignore it I thought I would explain my position. I hope you understand, and I hope what my reports lack regarding location I make up for it with other helpful tips.

Perfectly fair to not give specific locations on a fishing report. It's up to the user to decide how much information to put out there. We are appreciative of whatever information is shared.

Probably was not a fair question. We are extremely appreciative of your reports and find them very useful. Thank you very much.
