Hit Lake Washington again on Wednesday from 8am to 5pm. It was a perfect day weather wise and around the South end of the lake it was pretty much deserted all day. Only saw 1 other boat out fishing and I don't think I saw more than 5 boats in total all day out there.

Started my usual troll from the middle of the lakes south end up along the southern edge of Mercer Island. Very little bait noted but at least a few more fish were seen on the sonar this time out. Nothing happened until I rounded the SW bend of Mercer Island heading north in the West channel towards Seward Park. Got whacked by a very nice hog of rainbow that spit the hook right as I was getting the net in the water. After that got a couple more nice takers which were released. They all took a 2.5in Brad Kokanee mini cut plug (in pink magic) and a UV herring bone sling blade, 30 ft down on the cable.

After that trolled the South edge of the lake back towards the Cedar about 11:30am. About half way there I decided to head out into deeper water towards the middle of the S end of the lake and that's where I got the other 2 fish. They were average in size but I had switched to a wedding ring and a gold/silver dodger at that time. One of them was covered in some kind of parasite. I was 40 ft down on the rigger with those 2 because the sun had come out. All the prior fish caught on the Brads mini cut plug were larger in size.

Got to try my new Fish Hawk water temperature device again and it really helped in locating the proper temp range to fish. I compared it to the Lake WA weather buoy data and in the south end of the lake the water was about 2 degrees colder. Looks like its starting to pick up out there. Overall it was just a nice day to be out there fishing. Be safe. -G

Great report and I drove by and over the lake a few times while working Wednesday wishing I was there! Thought I saw you working the south end as I was driving south on Lake WA blvd! It's funny as I also had some better success working that deeper water in the middle last year too down that way! May be hitting it this Saturday if you are out there give me a shout or wave!

Do you launch at Coulon or Atlantic City?

Salmonbarry, I launch at Coulon. I'm in a 22ft tan and white Bayliner Trophy hardtop (Joe's Island), older model. I try to bid my work schedule so I can get weekdays off because the weekends when the weather is nice it can be difficult to fish in peace while dealing with all the skiers, boaters and wakeboaders on Lake WA. Might try to slide out this Sunday morning early before the weekend madness begins. I try to fish the entire day when I go out but I may make an exception Sunday. If you ever see me out there come over and say hello. Would enjoy meeting you. Love your reports. -G
