6/5/2017 11:39:59 AMBeautiful area to fish. We caught walleye fri and sat. I forgot to mention about all the debris. Boat captains need to be on high alert for wood. It can be hard to spot in choppy conditions.

6/5/2017 12:03:07 PMI caught a sturgeon when I was about 3-4 years old.It was all of 6 inches.It was months before I forgave grampa for throwing it back in the river. Old and in the way as I am I still remember it.

6/5/2017 5:55:09 PMThanks for the report Dave... I was wondering if anyone was having success in the new fishery. Just two questions... what were you using for bait and were you targeting the deeper holes? That is if you don't mind sharing some info! :)

6/5/2017 7:29:13 PMSmelt, herring, and squid seem to be the top three baits reporting success. If you do the math there a literally sturgeon all over the upper reaches of Roosevelt. I focused on 45-65 FOW.

Friend of mine was in same area as you and thankful for all the attention to sturgeon, said there was a lot less pressure on walleye and they did very well. IIRC he said they kept 41 or 42 'eys between 3 anglers for the day.

6/6/2017 6:01:03 PMWalleye and sturgeon both got added to the list this year. But nothing is as beautiful as a fat 23" kokanee. Except maybe a 24' koke, or a 25".
