Fished Stevens Saturday with my buddy on his duckworth, launched about 5:15am. Had a lot of action hitting perch all over the lake. Stayed on the east and north end mostly. Had many perch tugging on our lures the whole time and smaller fish. We each got a handful smallmouth. The biggest I got was on a senko right by the swim area on the north end. First time I have ever been to Stevens despite being local my whole life and living in lake stevens for 2 years haha. Too hard to pontoon out there with the size of the lake and wind. We were catching most fish on senkos. I though to try topwater early and 1st cast under a dock about 3 feet off shore got one that nailed it! Topwater fishing is the best if you ask me! nothing like a good blow up. Water temps were high 60s the entire day. Caught fish mostly near shore and we were sitting on drops up to 20 ft deep and also caught some fishing 3 ft of water in the shallows. Fish were spread all over and we had to work for em but it was a great day. We were done by about 10am.
