With some time on my hands, I decided to check out this water close to home. After a short hike, I located the path down through the trees down to the shoreline. One other tuber was already out. I started out using foam poppers and immediately began hooking bass up to one pound but nothing bigger. The action tapered off until I changed to a black woollybugger with an orange head. Water was quite warm, as I went without the waders due to the excessive heat. What was a bit annoying was the shallowness of the water, as my kicking was constantly stirring up the sediment. Best action was out in the middle of the lake among the pads. I stayed 'til around 5:30. ** To the other float-tuber using plastics, in the future, please consider releasing the big brooders you catch. Obviously, plastics are very effective here but also obvious is the limited fishery in such a small lake. I was quite disappointed that you kept several very nice fish for your "fish fry" rather than strictly going with the plentiful ten inches. Your choice of course but this lake's stock needs protection if it is to remain a great and tranquil place to visit...
