So my uncle and I decided to hit Lake Goodwin because of the reports and success JoshH has been having on the lake. Arrived at the lake and lines in the water by 7:30am. We were using Diamond Flash Spinners and Gods Tooth Kokanee rigs trolled behind sling blade dodgers. Also tipped the hooks with night crawlers. Fished from 10-30 on the downrigger moving our gear up and down the water column and not a single bite in the 2 hours we fished. So decided to call it quits and go fish lake Ki since the lake is right next door. But with 14 foot Lund, made it pain in the butt to launch out at lake Ki. So went back to the house grapped the raft and finally made it to the lake once again. Launched the boat and lines in the water by noon. We used the exact same setups I meantioned above. Diamond Flash Spinners in 50/50 Silver and Gods Tooth Kokanee rigs in 50/50 Gold and Pink Top. Also tipped the hooks with worms trolled 14-16 inches of leader behind sling blade dodgers. Now through the past trips I had, the rainbows were deep right around 25-30 feet trolling out in the middle of the lake. So that's exactly what we did, downriggers at 30 feet. Not 5 mins in we had a double! Brought those fish in, popped there gills and through them on ice. Honestly folks, it took more time to get the gear set on the down rigger then to hook the fish, it was insane fishing! All fish came from 30 feet down and I was doing 50 foot set backs on the rigger. We had more double hook ups than single hook ups in this trip. This was my record breaking trip I've ever had on the lake! Managed to pull in 2 limits in only 45 minutes! Those fish at lake Lake Goodwin were definitely finicky but the fish at lake Ki were definitely not! What a great day on the water and can't wait to do it again! Tight lines everybody and good luck fishing!

Nice job! That lake is a nightmare to launch if you have a trailer, surprised there aren't more wrecks the way people fly down the road.

Lake Ki RV resort has a boat launch. It's been a couple years since I used it. At the time it was $5.00 for non guests and it's a decent launch away from the highway and good parking for your truck.
