Was able to get out on an off Friday and wanted to check the new 520 bridge area for left over submerged buoys/anchor lines after the construction clean-up. It would appear they did a pretty good job as I didn’t notice anything on the sonar as long as I kept the requisite 100 yards from the bridge. The new bridge anchors seem to be out a bit further than the originals just something to keep in mind in the event you want to troll deep. I did see a few schools of what I believe are sockeye so be mindful when fishing the area. The wind had picked up out of the north pretty heavy so I decided to run south to fish the bay south of Medina where my father and I had some luck last week. I started shallow, in 25 – 30 feet of water and picked up a perch and a small cutt that both were spitting up 1” fry. I changed out my kokanee cutplug for a shrimp fly and fished in slightly deeper water and promptly put 4 cutts in the boat that ranged between 15” and 17”. Not large by any means but good enough to put in the smoker for company visiting this upcoming week. I picked up my gear and ran south to the mouth of the Cedar to check out the sand bar and let the dog frolic a bit in the water. The water level is still up in the lake so my dog could not stand anywhere on the bar. Also the water in the area is running a few degrees behind the rest of the lake at 62 and may be a contributing factor to the minimal amount of vegetation surrounding the bar. In general the lake seems to be running a couple weeks behind its normal schedule with regards to temperature so the cutts can still be found relatively shallow.
