Hi Everyone!

Rob here from Clayoquot Ventures Tofino Fishing up in Tofino, BC on the west coast of Vancouver Island, Canada.

I am absolutely thrilled to be joining this awesome community of dedicated anglers! If you've never heard of Tofino, BC before then let me tell you, you are missing out on some incredible fishing opportunities! We are located along the migration route of most major salmon runs down the coast. We also have incredible opportunities to catch halibut and lingcod. And the best part about it is, you can drive in to town and leave the wife and kids behind in town while you go fishing haha! But seriously, there is so much to see and do in Tofino that you can turn a fishing trip into a family vacation! There's surfing, hiking, natural hot springs, whale watching, bear watching, spas and world class restaurants just to name a few.

We offer multi-day fishing and accommodation packages along with single full day or half day trips. We also offer saltwater fly fishing for salmon and rockfish but I'll go into more detail about these trips in a separate report (stay tuned!) If you want to include the wife and kids, we also offer a marine eco-tour. It's a combination of fishing and wild life viewing.

As with most of the coast this year, we've been off to a slower start than usual but the fish are now starting to show up in good numbers! We've been catching limits of salmon, halibut and lingcod on most of our trips and have been blessed with some great weather as well. Is there anything better than catching fish with the sun shining and a view of the coastal mountains in the background? I didn't think so either!

We've been catching most of our salmon on spoons and squid imitation hoochies lately. The squid have shown up in the bays and just about every salmon belly has been loaded with them, so of course, we want to match the hatch!

We've had most of our halibut success on salmon bellies and white grubs loaded with scent from Pro-Cure.
