Hit Larsen at 0500 Monday morning, started out at NW corner of the lake. Two others fishing from the small dock. Had several hits and was actually thinking I might be getting better at this. Was happily working it until some local flavor showed up hollering at the top of his lungs all things political and religious. He too decided the NW corner was his pulpit and planted himself 20 feet to my right.
Time to move...
South side, fishing from downed log. Caught two right in front of the lilly pads, not overly big, couple nice take downs, lost one in the pads but finally landed a third, nice 9-10". Bite stopped and so did I.
Enough to cook some up, never ate crappie before so was anxious to try it. Decided simple was best, dredged in some flower and just some salt and pepper, fried 'em up and goodness! That was some of the tastiest fish I have ever had! Certainly well worth the effort to continue chasing these finned friends!
Now, time to buy a good fillet knife!
