This is a two day report. I fished Tuesday morning with my daughter and we went 3 for 4 in under 2 hours. Biggest cutt was 17". Today my son and buddy Mike caught 9 fish with the first 4 at 12". The next fish was a 17" Sockeye. After the Sockeye I put on a God's tooth spoon in gold/silver and started catching the big boys. Caught my personal best Cutt and it was approximately 21" and 3 #'s. We caught another big one that was 18" and 2#'s. All fish were caught at the south end of the lake between Coulon and the Cedar River. Lines at 25-45 feet in 50-90 feet of water. Today is the first day of my 9 day vacation. My vaca couldn't have started any better.

Question about Lake WA.
I live nearby, and everyday I read all these awesome reports about the Cutt. fishery and it seems pretty lively right now.
Problem is I don't have a boat.
Is fishing Lake WA for Trout really only possible with a Boat, or is there decent shore fishing opportunities for Cutts?
Thanks and nice work, looks like it was a blast!

Hey Frosty,

You can catch trout off shore but being in a boat is much more effective. Coulon has a ton of docks that get you in deeper water.

Ah I see!
Thanks for the tip, might have to check out Coulon sometime. I live up on the North end of the Lake (Magnuson Area), looks like such a fun fishery right in Seattle's backyard.

I saw you folks out there water temp was warm but wind was a killer especially yesterday wish I knew how to forecast that wind. Nice work did you folks catch any perch we hit two in 120 foot of water trolling at 1.6 down 30 foot didn't know perch could swim that fast lots of big fish biting out there right now keep the faith they should keep biting--- good vacation timing...

Hey Scott,

We haven't caught any perch when trout fishing on Lk. WA. I caught some on Lk. Sammamish a few months ago using downriggers so it is not uncommon. Keep at em as they are there for the taking.

I am using 10-14" leaders which I didn't put in my initial report. You might want to shorten your leaders if yours are much longer.

Thanks Markin' Fish for the great report and for giving the God's Tooth a try. Really appreciate your willingness to share your experience with the spoon. Was wondering if you ran the spoon out of the box or used a kokanee rig tipped with a worm? Thanks!

Used the Kok rig with a bit of night crawler. Your spoons have outfished most lures in the box. I'm hooked and a fan for life. Thank you Elgin Fishing lures!

Thanks Markin' Fish for the kind remarks and if you would like to email a photo via our website of the fish you catch with the God's Tooth someday, we would be thrilled to post it to our website and facebook page. Take care!
