So wanted to try our luck at Summit lake as its been closed for a few months. Took my son and daughter and myself arrived around 11:00 am or so and got the boat in the water. Only 2 boat trailers in the parking lot and a free boat metal gas in great shape with hose. Older but still tons of life left. This was a test run to be sure the fish were biting as tomorrow I am taking a friend and his son along with my girl fishing.
Well we started in the center of the lake using DR stacked 2 rods on each. Well before I could get one side set up we had to fish on the line and made quick work in the boat. Reset the gear and started getting the second rigger set with my two rods. We fished 2 pink squids from Mack's lure and Toni's " Wanna fish a lure" Bloody Mary wedding ring with hammered brass blade and a orange squid with brass blades on the other. Tipped with corn we went to work, keeping our lines from 15 ft to 40 ft the fish were willing to jump on the line. We had a blast, a few drive by's and long releases but most made it into the cooler no problems. We were done by 12:45 or so with many doubles. The fish averaged 11-15" with the orange squid from " Wanna fish a lure" was getting the most action and gave us the largest fish of the day.
Great times easy fishing and very relaxing time! Can't wait for tomorrow adventures!!
Tight lines,
Eric
