This report is about a week late - but here goes:
I convinced my wife to take a "road trip" with me to "buy some fruit" and "antique browsing" from the famous fruit stand in Thorp. Along the way we could "stop by" the Easton ponds to catch a few for dinner.
Arrived at around 1000 in the morning and it was pretty stinking hot already. The water was pretty murky looking and the weed growth has become fairly obvious. Fished in the pond closest to the freeway for about an hour with multiple colors of floating power eggs 15"-36" off the bottom. A small water snake rolled by and we were even visited by a large bullfrog. Had one taker on the deeper line - it was a lazy 10" bow.
We later moved in-between the ponds - near the WDFW sign (mainly for the shade) and I proceeded to land 3 more 10-12" bows - off the deeper line on orange power-eggs. On the far-sided pond we were visited by a small river otter - who slowly crossed and was perhaps more curious about us than we were about him.
All up, 4 fried trout, a light sunburn, and a sackful of apricots make for a pretty good afternoon.
tight lines!
