I checked out Cedar River Trail Park, as it looked really promising on Google Maps. It looks like it should be a good place to catch fish, but I didn't have any luck there. I threw a Whopper Plopper for a while, and I switched it up to a Ned Rig. No bites. Saw some people fishing on the dock by the Renton Rowing Center. Not sure if they caught any. I went to Gene Coulon later in the morning, and it was pretty tough there too. Got a dink smallmouth and 2 rock bass on the Ned rig. I used a jighead with a weedguard, but it was hard to avoid getting tangled up in the thick vegetation. I threw a weightless senko for a little while, but no luck. What do you all like to use when the vegetation is quite thick? It's been a tough bite from shore lately for bass. Gotta get me a kayak one of these days!
