8/7/2017 1:05:36 PMThey were mostly surfacing 20-30 yards and out from shore, so it may have been better fishing as well.

8/7/2017 6:50:38 PMLooks a little like Sundown lake above lake quinault except it's full of rainbows and it's an 8 1'2 mile hike. Few people know of it but it boasts rainbows 10" to 22". Tried spinners and worms but it was like they never seen a worm. You couldn't keep a fly in the water more than 2 seconds without a hit. of course it's been several years since I was able to make the hike. It's a sparsely marked trail off graves creek trail. easy to get lost if you don't know the area, more bear and elk than you'll see in a lifetime, both non aggressive.

8/8/2017 10:40:54 AMI have never had a chance to explore and Olympic Mountain lakes, but it sounds pretty similar to most I've seen around the North Cascades. Nothing beats having a nice alpine lake teaming with fish all to yourself. I havnt had as much luck on spinners as I have with flies here either.
